The very first welcome meeting took place on 3 July via Zoom. This informal meeting lasted almost two hours, with up to 35 participants: laureates, delegates and professional organisations, from continental Africa and the diaspora. Despite the lack of simultaneous translation, it was a thrill to finally get to know each other’s faces and talk to each other. More department-specific meetings are planned for this fall.
